Part-time Bartender

General Purpose
Prepare, mix and serve drinks and beverages correctly to either customer directly or through serving staff.


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

        • Greet customers
        • Make recommendations and answer all related inquiries
        • Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age
        • Take orders from serving staff or directly from customers
        • Record drink orders accurately into register system
        • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes
        • Peel, slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
        • Mix and garnish cocktails according to standard specs
        • Up sell drink and snack items to customers
        • Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion
        • Attempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures
        • Inform Manager and Assistant manager of any issues and follow the chain of command
        • Process transactions using the POS system
        • Prepare checks for customers
        • Process customer payments
        • Arrange glasses and bottles into attractive and functional displays
        • Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment and working areas
        • Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies
        • Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift
        • Monitor inventory
        • Order and restock bar inventory
        • Everyday cleaning processes of floors, tables, counters, vlt machines and all other areas that require wipe down each day


    Skills and Experienceey Job Competence

          • High School Diploma preferred
          • Minimum age requirement of 19 years
          • Working knowledge of standard drink recipes
          • Working knowledge of spirits, wine and beer
          • Understanding of classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names and garnishments
          • Working knowledge of bar equipment
          • Knowledge and education in mixology an advantage
          • Numeracy and cash-handling skills
          • Able to work flexible schedules
          • Able to work in a standing position for long periods
          • Be able to reach and bend and frequently lift up to 30 pounds

        General Purpose
        To take orders and serve customers in our restaurant in an efficient manner maintaining a clean and safe dining room to make customers feel welcome, comfortable and well attended too.

        Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

          • Greet customers upon entrance
          • Prepare tables by arranging condiments, silverware, napkins, chairs and placemats
          • Assist customers with ordering/selection, answering questions on menu items and describing house specials
          • Take orders to kitchen and explain in detail customers order especially identifying any dietary requirements or special requests
          • Deliver food in a timely manner and attend to customers throughout out the dining process
          • Offer dessert menu and suggest dessert
          • Issue check and process payment
          • Pre bus tables, maintain table cleanliness and bus tables
          • Replenish salad bar table and sauces and ensure all items are topped up daily
          • Dishwashing continuous to keep on top of dirty dishes
          • Assist cook when required or necessary
          • Replenish ketchup, salt, pepper, vinegar, sauces and all other condiments as required
          • Sweep and mop dining room at the end of shift and ensure at the end of shift the dining room is in ready for the next shift
          • Silverware to be rolled in napkins for dining room
          • Take out area to be clean and organized and all items replenished if needed
          • Coffee and Drink area to be cleaned and organized at all times
          • Daily special sign update every morning
          • Check email first thing in the morning and periodically throughout the day for North Atlantic orders
